Wow, we are already in week 4! There are many things that need to be done, like: prototyping, promoting/advertising, contacting possible sponsors and partners etc.

On Monday, Max started working on establishing a connection with arduino and unity.

Marieke started working on an animation which we are going to send to the companies we want to partner with. Along with that, she also wrote an email-template that Shtilyan and Rania will send to them.

Tuesday was a long day, but definitely fruitful! We started with a daily stand up in order to figure out what everyone is doing and what we need to do. Since we don't have uni on Thursday and Friday, we decided that we had to make clear what everyone had to do by Monday:

  • Max: Will continue working on the Arduino/Processing and Unity

  • Marieke: Will finish the animation and compose an email that we will have to send to our possible sponsors

  • Sacha: Will work on visuals in unity for the hologram based on the tutorial that Kacper showed is

  • Shtilyan: Will create content for social media, posters and a sound moodboard

  • Rania: Will continue working on social media, finish the research on the target audience and try out the touchboard with the proximity sensors.

  • Indre: Will work on the mobile website and improve the design document

Then, a very crucial moment of the day was when we talked with Herman and Margit. The outcome of our discussion was:

He doesn’t get the link between our moodboard and stylesheet

  • He thinks that the ā€˜problem’ lies in our installation – he said that the fact that it just stands there, just to promote our website, might be causing us problems

  • He suggested that with unity visual effect graph, we can create logos, so the end point of the installation could be to show random logos of events in the hologram.

  • We should work more on our target audience and link our visuals to them – why would they be attracted to that?

  • Look more into the ā€˜urban lifestyle’ and link our visuals

  • Yellow and black is a very classic combination – there is nothing original in that.

  • He wants to see the interpretation of skateboard elements in our installation: e.g. add the texture/ sand paper – skateboard like

  • We need to find our sounds and implement it in our moodboard.

After this session, we met with Boris and Harry and got feedback on our Design Document. The good thing is that they said it's one of the best. However, we still need to improve a lot of things:

  1. We should make our concept more clear from the beginning.

  2. Improve our MoSCow method - e.g. electricity shouldn't be in the "must have".

  3. Scan our sketches instead of making pictures and make them bigger with a caption, so that people can understand what they read.

  4. Maybe we should think about the 1.70 cm - average height, because (especially guys in the Netherlands) are much taller than that.

  5. List of requirements: the functional properties should be about the system performance

  6. Costumer Journey - add a QR code in the posters - either send users to our website, or on google maps with our location.

  7. Morphological Chart: Add the actuators, add arduino/touchboard, instead of ultrasonic we can use PIR sensor (wider range).

  8. State Transition Diagram .- it shouldn't be a costumer journey - it should be translated in the technical aspects.

  9. Deployment Diagram - Follow the example on blackboard - again, less costumer journey, more hardware and software connection.

Later on, Max managed to connect Arduino with unity:
