Week 9

This week was the final week of diehard working on our installation. I would say I have had some stress this week and not enough sleep but we're still working hard and optimistic :)
Max made a steal thing for on the ramp during the weekend with a frend. Shtilyan, Indre and I secured it to the ramp. This was quite difficult because it will move all the time back and forth or passengers whould bump into it and the ramp would almost be destroid. Luckily that didn't happen and in the end it was kind of stable. I orderd 200 stickers the week before and they finally arrived this weekend so we could stick them on our installation. The stickers really had the skater vibe and it gives a really cool though to our installation. I also asked Harry if we could use some beamers from school because the screens weren't bright enough. So I tested them too.

On thuesday I had a big building day. At the beginning of the project I said I would rather  not do too much building because I'm not really good at it but along the way I like it more and I'm getting more confident. So I built the bottom part for the skateboard and drilled some holes so the wires could go through. First we wanted to let the beamers project on the wall inside the installation and that would reflect in the hologram. So I toghether with Shtilyan a wooden shelf so the beamers could stand on it. Drilling the shelf was a challenge because I had to sit under it, but luckiliy I'm quite flexible so in the end we manage to buid it.

On wednesday we were already in school at 8...way too early for me haha. But we needed to present our installation to Margrit and Ivens. They were still enthousiastic about it even though the technical part wasn't working properly yet. They also really liked our campaign which is really nice :) I also made the hole for the front beamer bigger so the hologram would be bigger. I did it with the big elektric saw and it was really hard to do. But it works fine now and the hologram looks even nicer.
Thursday I made the tree beamer stands by myself. We decided to let the beamers project vertically so the beautiful wooden shelf I mad wednesday was removed. But making the three beamer stands was fun to do and I'm proud of the building skills I gained this week. Annebel asked me to write something about our exhibition for the gogbot facebook page which was really cool :)

Friday was a tuff day. Today we would get our go or no go and because the interaction wasn't working yet I wasn't sure if we would get a go. In the morning it seemed to work fine, but the question part wasn't. Well but I couldn't really help Max with the interaction otherwise then standing on the skateboard so I asked Harry if we could use some ventilatiors to keep our installation nice and cool. I hate soldering and I'm really bad at it but I needed to solder 2 ventilatiors together. Well let's keep it short by saying I needed to redo it 5 times but in the end they worked and I didn't burn myself woehoe. I also made two holes in the door for the ventilation.
The time was here our go or no go moment. Sadly technique let us down and the question part wasn't working properly enough to get a go. I was pretty devistated and done with the project at that moment. But Harry and Rene helped us really well by giving a solution. I think the whole team got even more motivated now to work really hard this weekend to fix everything before monday and show we can exhibit our installation next week. I hope it will all come together this weekend but I have faith in that we will survive this bump in the road and come back with a working interaction and an awesome installation.
For promotion I made a glitching video effect for the first time in my life. I never made it befor but after watching a quick tutorial I found out it was pretty easy to make and fun too. I think it turned out cool and it gives us a sneak peak form our shape of sound.
