WEEK 2
Shtilyan, the lifesaver
In the beginning, the fact that Shtilyan was in Bulgaria was a bit frustrating. In the end, it turned out to be our solution to our problems. He, with a fresh mind, came up with an amazing concept inspired by Chaldni's technique. We then talked about it, and tried to implement this idea into our concept. We then decided to create an interactive installation with a hologram as well as sounds, that people can control with their hand movements.

Getting our concept clear was not an easy thing. We had to talk to a lot of professors, as well as Jacob - a super cool artist - and the owner of the skate shop in the city. We god a lot of inspiration, and we finally got our concept straight.

This is the week in which I found a new really use full tutorial which I eventually created the final visual animation with.
after a week struggling with settings and still getting more familiar with a new program I was able to create something that looked like something okay.

Besides this I created the second one pager. A important point of this new one pager is that our main goal gets on the way more and more clear. It has now evolved in:

Our goal is making people, young adolescents, more aware of off the grid events in Enschede, asin art and culturalwise. Besides this we aim for making Enschede the new cultural capital in the east of the Netherlands.

At the moment it’s a sort of community, if you’re “in” you will know about the events, if you’re “out” the expected thing to happen is that you only know afterwards that these events did happen. Our goal: make the gap smaller or dissapear between “in” and “out”.
Besides this the organizations from such event are most of the time dependant from the municipal subsidy. We want to ensure a stable platform so that events of this kind can continue to exist.
With our installation people are able to experience sound and visuals in an intuitive way. While leaning for- or backwards on the skateboard you’ll experience some interaction with our installation. Through our cool and intuitive installation we expect that people will use our “tools” like the website, to visit more off the grid events. People will remember this and hopefully will spread the word around about a new cool installation in town.

This week we also had again a meeting with the jury. In my opinion, compared to the others we killed it! we where good prepared. Our goals is clear and we have a team that is well motivated!

Other things we did this week finishing the top part of the installation. It's getting somewhere!
