WEEK 2
Shtilyan, the lifesaver
In the beginning, the fact that Shtilyan was in Bulgaria was a bit frustrating. In the end, it turned out to be our solution to our problems. He, with a fresh mind, came up with an amazing concept inspired by Chaldni's technique. We then talked about it, and tried to implement this idea into our concept. We then decided to create an interactive installation with a hologram as well as sounds, that people can control with their hand movements.
Getting our concept clear was not an easy thing. We had to talk to a lot of professors, as well as Jacob - a super cool artist - and the owner of the skate shop in the city. We god a lot of inspiration, and we finally got our concept straight.
week 6
php my admin - back end development
Since one of my learning goals of this project is to get more confident with coding and get out of my comfort zone, I took the initiative to work on the back end development of our porject. The first thing I need to do, is create a database, for the subscription email that our website is going to have.
After talking with Johannes about our main database, we realised that web scrapping is not something we want to do at the moment. Our collection of data is going to be something different - possibly from Unity, we are still thinking about it.
The email subscription is something additional to our database.
organising our social media campaign
So, we know that we need to work more on our social media. People like our feed, but they don't really get what it is that we are actually doing. Therefore, before starting our campaign, I suggested we do a paid promotion and post things which explain our project.
Our campaign, is going to be a sticker action that I am going to explain in a while. Before we ask people to engage with us, and take part in our contest, we must make sure that we will target the correct people and inform them correctly about the Shape of Sounds.
This is why I made a research on Google Trends, and created a custome made target group on IG.
