Week 6

The sixth week was very eventful, and we made a big progress as a group. During that week I helped Indre with website design. The problem was that the pattern that was chosen to represent the menu bar was battling with the logo in the center of the website.

For that reason, I created another pattern that resembles burger menu and fits our style at the same time. It was visually appealing but after a few tests were conducted we came to realize that the users wouldn’t be able to recognize it as a menu. Therefore, we settled for a basic recognizable burger menu.

During that week Rania, Marieke and me, came up with an advertising campaign, which targeted young adults. The idea is to ask our followers for art that visualizes various sounds (How does the sound of the weekend look?). Our goals with the campaign we just planned out are to prepare our audience for the abstract concept of visualizing sounds and involve more people in our creative process, thus engaging them with our installation and using them as free advertisers of our product (because they will share what they have created and draw more attention to our campaign). I also created illustrations, that explains how we got the task and how we got to the final idea. This was done in order to give our followers a context of what we are ding and why are we doing it. Marieke animated those illustrations and Rania used them for paid promotion. With that campaign we got more attention and recognition which led to doubling the number of our Instagram followers.

I also helped with building. Me and Max put wheels on the base so that the installation can be moved easily.
