WEEK 2
Shtilyan, the lifesaver
In the beginning, the fact that Shtilyan was in Bulgaria was a bit frustrating. In the end, it turned out to be our solution to our problems. He, with a fresh mind, came up with an amazing concept inspired by Chaldni's technique. We then talked about it, and tried to implement this idea into our concept. We then decided to create an interactive installation with a hologram as well as sounds, that people can control with their hand movements.

Getting our concept clear was not an easy thing. We had to talk to a lot of professors, as well as Jacob - a super cool artist - and the owner of the skate shop in the city. We god a lot of inspiration, and we finally got our concept straight.
Week 7
For some reason my blog post was deleted and I need to rewrite it. I hope that I can remember everything. Here we go.
We decided to NOT meet on Monday so that everyone could work on their redo for Web Development. Still thinking on making the installation ofcourse 😉.

On Tuesday we started building the top part of the installation, at the end of the day, the top part was almost done expect for some sanding etc.
Wednesday we finished the top part and put it on the other part.
Here is a picture of the finished product as well as the parts on top of each other.

The next hours I was busy building the hologram itself. We already bought the glass the day before and started cutting the parts. The cutting process took about 2 hours. Sadly the plate wouldn’t fit inside the laser cutter. These cuts would be way more accurate and it would’ve spared a lot of time for us.

Thursday we had a presentation for Promotie Enschede again. I had the idea that they weren’t really interested or even listening to me presenting the concept because they were on their phones and searching through papers the whole time. They didn’t even had questions for us (I don’t think that the presentation was so clear that they didn’t even have ONE question but okay).

The last day I connected all the monitors to the laptop because the splitters finally arrived!
We hooked everything up we saw that one of the screens were broken. We asked Harry if we could use three school screens and he had some laying around so we tested it with those and they worked!
