Week 8

On Monday a few worked from home at the technical aspects from our data base /php etc while some others worked on paining the installation. First we checked several surfaces/wallpaper for the paint. In the end we concluded that just prepare the wood with sandpaper would be enough. After we finished the top part it was done for this day.

On Tuesday we again had a justification lesson with Sarah, as a followup assignment from last week we where ordered to discuss our shadow sides in our qualities. Reflecting on these sessions I think, especially in our group, the open reflecting conversations can be really valuable in the future. I think we all got a bit more self aware of our behavior and how we are for new people that approach us.

Feedback from Sarah was that she felt a really good vibe in our group, it seems that she also got good energy out of it. For once I think that group projects can be a really good thing!

Now that we have finished the main installation the next part to build is the ramp! Max and Shtilyan did some great work and created a great looking ramp!

another thing that happened this week is that we got great improvements in the visuals! For now we still need to change the audio a bit so that it will be visually a bit more attractive.

What also works in the interaction with the skateboard, in the previous week we discovered that it is more intuitive to control the installation with the skateboard instead of your hands and luckily we, Max, managed to fix this!

On Friday we managed to fix the "plexiglas" it took some time, stress and frustration but in the end with help from other people we where able to put the plexiglas into the top part of the installation.

At the end of this week we all had good feelings about our installation, we made improvements, everything was going well but than something went wrong. Our screens where not bright enough so the main wow factor of our installation had kind of failed. After this we tried to project with a beamer, which looked better but than we would need three beamers. This is something we have to figure out next week. We do have some sponsors who could help us with this problem but it stays as an unexpected big problem.
